Hanstholm contains the largest deffensive system erected in the N.Europe during W.W.ll. As part of the German-built Atlantic Wall, which stretched from Murmansk to Spain, the complex contained Army coastal batteries, radar stations and observation posts. Together with the technical infrastructure they supported the major Naval batteries in the area.

The author has accessed previously unpublished material which he has combined with his own considerable expertise to present the reader with new aspects of the German Occupation of Denmark between 1940 and 1945.

The book is richly illustrated with photographs and maps, much of which is previously unpublished.
